Militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shelled Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) with cluster munitions produced by NATO countries and drones. Two female residents were injured and a man was killed in the attack. This was reported by Izvestia correspondent Alexander Martemyanov on December 16.

According to him, the shells damaged the Stirol hotel and several passenger cars.

"The consequences you see what kind. Three times such flew that the building all collapsed. I thought the whole nine-story building would collapse. There's a room near the elevator, so I hid there. One, then two times, the whole place went bang. Then a third time. Then the car caught fire," said local resident Tamara.

Martemyanov noted that in addition to shelling the city with NATO munitions, the AFU militants sent an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to Gorlovka's Komsomolets neighborhood. There, the drone hit a civilian car: a civilian died of his wounds.

Earlier, on December 15, three civilians were injured as a result of artillery shelling of the residential area "Komsomolets" from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Gorlovka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). Other details of the incident are unknown.

On the same day, it was reported that the AFU fired eight NATO 155 mm caliber shells at Gorlovka in six hours. The locality of Katerinovka in the Nikitovka district of the city was shelled.

On the eve it became known that five civilians were injured as a result of the AFU attack on Gorlovka. All of them were taken to medical facilities with wounds of varying severity. Six houses, a school, a territorial center and several buses were also damaged.

Ukrainian militants have been shelling Russian territory, especially its new regions, on a daily basis against the backdrop of the special operation to protect Donbass, which the Russian Federation announced the start of on February 24, 2022.
