Rostec head talks about Putin's decision that saved the defense industry

Russian President Vladimir Putin 's decision to consolidate defense enterprises into state holdings, which he made in the 2000s, demonstrates its relevance nowadays. Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, said this in the movie "Lords of the Sky," which aired on Channel One on December 15.
"If, of course, in the zero years, our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin had not decided to consolidate all remaining defense enterprises, including aviation enterprises, into state holdings, into corporations, it would probably be very difficult for us to participate in any military actions today," Chemezov said.
According to Chemezov, in the 1990s, the entire defense industry, including aircraft manufacturing, could have been subject to liquidation.
Earlier, on December 12, retailers began expanding their networks in small towns with defense-industrial complex (DIC) enterprises against the backdrop of rising salaries of their employees. This was told to "Izvestia" by business representatives.
Before that, on December 6, the High-Precision Complexes holding of Rostec State Corporation fulfilled its annual contract for the supply of BTR-MDM multi-purpose armored personnel carriers under the state defense order. The holding said that the Rakushka BTR-MDMs are capable of carrying up to 13 paratroopers, ammunition, spare parts, fuel and lubricants in airborne units under any combat conditions and in different types of climate.
On October 23, Chemezov said that Rosoboronexport's order book for arms deliveries to foreign customers is about $55 billion.
Earlier, on July 30, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the state corporation said that new serial aircraft Il-76, Su-34, Su-57, Su-35, Yak-130, Mi-28, Ka-52 helicopters, T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks have been delivered for the needs of the Defense Ministry. Production of military equipment, self-propelled artillery and ammunition has been increased.
In May, Chemezov noted that the corporation supplies almost 80% of all weapons used by Russian servicemen during the special military operation (SMO). According to him, over the past two years, production and overhaul of tanks has increased 3.5 times, and light armored vehicles 3 times. The output of ammunition for tanks and BMPs has increased almost 9 times, shells for barrel artillery - 6 times, and rocket artillery - 8 times.
