- Military police helped eliminate the consequences of an AFU attack on a church in Kursk region

Members of the military police of the "North" group of troops helped the Holy Trinity Church to eliminate the consequences of the Ukrainian army's attack in the Glushkovsky district of Kursk Region, where civilian volunteers cannot reach, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on December 16.
The published footage shows broken stained glass windows and the facade of the church, which has been cut by shell shrapnel, as well as military police officers who are covering the window openings with cloth to protect the building during the cold season.
According to Archpriest John Andrishko, this is not the first time that military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces have helped the church. The clergyman emphasized the responsiveness of the soldiers, who are not only ready to help, but are also worried about the archpriest's condition and try to cheer him up.
"If we do not hear each other, our faith is vain. We must believe, respect and appreciate each other," said the preceptor of Holy Trinity Church.
As the ministry noted, this is not the first time Russian servicemen have helped clergymen from the Kursk border region: before that, the military police, at the request of the abbots, transported valuable artifacts, including the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, whose age exceeds 200 years, to a safe place.
"Our main task is to evacuate religious valuables to prevent them from being lost and burned. The enemy, experiencing failures in tactical directions, is increasingly starting to hit peaceful homes, cultural heritage sites and socially important objects," said the head of the military police department of the "North" group of troops with the call sign Groza.
Earlier, on December 13, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that servicemen of the military police of the "North" group of troops provided assistance to the church and moved icons and books with Holy Scripture to a safe place.
Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the AFU units that invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
