Carriers warned of delayed goods and rising prices

From the end of January 2025, delays in the delivery of goods transported by road may begin and the prices for these goods may rise. This was reported to "Izvestia" by participants of the freight transportation market.
According to them, this is due to the fact that from January 27, 2025 on the territory of the Union State of Russia and Belarus for road transportation of many imported and exported goods will require the use of electronic navigation seals, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) told "Izvestia".
According to Mikhail Koptev, commercial director of the federal transportation company Skif-Cargo, in the short term there may be temporary delays in cargo delivery due to the need to adapt to the new procedure.
Small shuttle trade may also slow down. The seal will have to be put not on the shipment, but on the car to track unauthorized unloading, Evgeny Dyatlov, head of FM Logistic's international transportation procurement department in Russia, told Izvestia. And this complicates the work of small carriers working with different categories of goods.
The devices will be applied and removed at checkpoints on the Russian border, as well as at checkpoints in Belarus, the Center for the Development of Digital Platforms (CDPP, the operator of sealing) said.
According to the DRDC, a wide range of goods fall under sealing. These are imported tobacco and alcohol products, a wide range of clothing, electronics, cell phones, wireless communication equipment, video and audio devices, music and TV, radio equipment, monitors, projectors and much more.
