In Cologne because of an unknown suitcase again was cordoned off and evacuated the territory of the Christmas market. This was reported by the German tabloid Bild on Sunday, December 15.

At around 19:30 Moscow time, Cologne police were informed about a suspicious object at the Heumarkt market. The Heinzel Winter's Tale Christmas fair had to be evacuated and the surrounding area had to be cordoned off.

According to police, the incident was caused by an abandoned suitcase, just like at the Rudolfplatz fair the day before.

The day before, there had already been a similar incident in Cologne, but at a different fair. Officers from the criminal police department arrived at the alarm. Around midnight an autopsy was authorized. There were no explosives in the suitcase, but there were kilograms of sand packed in bags.
