Over the past week, the Donbass Dome airspace protection and electronic warfare (REB) system detected and intercepted 138 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the skies above Donetsk and Makeyevka, the official representative of the Russian Federal Security Service's directorate for the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), Oksana Semesenko, has said.

As the speaker noted, one of the FPV attack drones with an improvised explosive device was intercepted in Kirovsky district of the administrative center of the DNR. The drone managed to neutralize with the participation of FSB explosive technicians, who eliminated the explosive object with an overhead charge.

"Thanks to the coordinated work of our defenders and the timely response of citizens, the places where drones fell were promptly identified. There were no casualties among civilians and damage to infrastructure," - emphasized Semesenko.

Prior to that, on December 9, the Russian Federal Security Service's Department of the DNR reported that 108 Ukrainian drone attacks were thwarted over the region during the week.

The AFU has been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis against the backdrop of the special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
