Nicaraguan president's special envoy says he has regular contacts with Putin

Contacts at the level of the heads of state of Russia and Nicaragua take place on an ongoing basis. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Russian President Vladimir Putin regularly exchange letters and phone calls. This was told to "Izvestia" by the special representative of the President of the country on the development of relations with Russia Laureano Ortega.
"Communication at the highest level is always present. Presidents constantly exchange letters and calls, not all of them public. Russian President Putin, Nicaraguan President Ortega, and Vice President Rosario Murillo are in close contact," Ortega said.
On December 11, the sixth meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua was held, for which Ortega arrived in Moscow.
