In the Kaliningrad region free school attendance was introduced due to the storm


In schools of the Kaliningrad region on December 16 will be free attendance due to a storm warning. This was announced by the Governor of the region Alexei Besprozvannykh in his Telegram-channel on Sunday, December 15.
"Friends, tomorrow morning we expect a strong storm. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations - up to 25-29 m/s. This is potentially dangerous for everyone who will be on the street at the time of the storm. Without need, please do not go outside," he wrote.
Besprozvannykh said he would make Monday a free-to-attend school day, a decision that applies to all educational institutions in the Kaliningrad region. He also asked parents not to leave their children unattended and noted that if weather conditions become even worse overnight, educational institutions will be switched to distance learning by morning.
In addition, emergency services in the region, according to the governor, have already been put on high alert.
Earlier in the day, tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait as a result of a strong storm. There were strong squally winds and sea excitement of up to seven points in that area. At first it became known about the wreck of one vessel, after some time it was reported about the damage of the second tanker. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported that more than 50 people and 11 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the incident.
