Russian swimmers break world record and win gold in combined relay race


On December 15, Russian swimmers won gold medals with a world record in the 4x100 short course relay at the World Swimming Championships in Budapest.
Athletes showed a total time of 3 min. 18.68 sec. Kirill Prigoda, Miron Lifintsev, Andrey Minakov and Yegor Korneev took part in the Russian national team. The athletes broke the world record, which was set by the Americans and Australians in 2022.
The second was the USA team with a result of 3 min. 18.98 sec. The bronze medal was won by swimmers of the Italian team (3 min. 19.91 sec.), writesSport-Express.
The World Short Course Swimming Championships 2024 were held in Budapest from December 10 to 15.
The day before, Russian swimmers became world champions in the 4x100-meter mixed combined relay in Budapest. They showed a result of 3 min. 30.47 seconds and beat the USA team by 0.08 seconds.
Russia's Ilya Borodin also won gold at the World Championships. He became the world champion in the short course swimming 400 meters. In the final heat the athlete showed a result of 3 min. 56.83 sec.
