Residents of villages liberated by Russian troops in Kursk region lived in dire conditions for several months. This was reported on December 15 by Alexander Khinshtein, acting governor of the region.

"Our military liberated not only territories, they liberated the most important thing - people who had been <...> in the most difficult conditions for several months," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Hinshtein emphasized that the residents of the liberated villages in Kursk region need support. Servicemen, rescuers, medics and volunteers will be involved.

Earlier, on December 12, the Russian Armed Forces liberated Novoivanovka in Kursk region. Before that, on December 11, the Russian army liberated Daryino and Plekhovo in Sujan district.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
