The evacuation of the crew of the tanker Volgoneft-239, which crashed in the Kerch Strait, has been suspended due to bad weather. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation on December 15.
According to the agency, on board the ship has everything necessary for priority life support.
"Forces and means for assistance are in readiness," - indicated in the Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait earlier in the day. There were strong squally winds and sea excitement up to 7 points in that area. First it became known about the wreck of one vessel, after a while it was reported about the damage of the second tanker. In the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported that more than 50 people and 11 units of equipment are involved in the elimination of the incident.
The vessel "Volgoneft-212" ran aground, a few hours later the same happened with "Volgoneft-239" near the port of Taman, Krasnodar Territory. During the rescue operation 13 people were evacuated from the first vessel, one of them died. The crew of the second tanker consisting of 14 people is on the vessel. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident, one of which was reclassified as more serious.
Alexei Kuznetsov, Assistant Minister of Health of Russia, said that 11 people were injured in the crash of the tanker Volgoneft-212 in the Kerch Strait , two of them in serious condition. The victims were recorded to have hypothermia.
