The candidate for the post of the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Ratcliffe, who was proposed for the position by US President-elect Donald Trump, is a professional. This opinion was expressed on December 15 by Sergei Naryshkin, head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
"No, I am not familiar with him, but I know that the person is a professional. So we are waiting for a decision," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti when asked if he and Ratcliffe are familiar.
It became known on November 13 that Trump proposed to the post of head of the CIA John Ratcliffe. On the same day, the American President-elect announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new Department of efficiency of the US government. Also the day before, he nominated Fox News host Pete Hegseth to head the Secretary of Defense.
On November 19, he proposed the nomination of Linda McMahon to be the US Secretary of Education. Prior to that, he announced that American billionaire and investor Howard Lutnick would become the new Secretary of Commerce. On November 18, Trump nominated Brendan Carr to become chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th president of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
