In the village of Ukhovsky in the Irkutsk region there was a fire in a residential house, during which a grandfather saved his granddaughter from the fire, but he himself died. About it on December 15 reported in the Ministry of emergency Situations of Russia.

"In the settlement of Ukhovsky, a 15-year-old girl inadvertently set things on fire. The fire quickly spread through the house, cutting off the way to the exit. A 67-year-old man rushed into the burning house and at the cost of his own life saved his granddaughter," - stated in the message of the Department in the Telegram-channel.

The area of the fire amounted to 114 square meters, it was extinguished by seven firefighters and three units of equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on November 20, an elderly man died in a fire in a five-story house in Sevastopol. In addition, a woman was injured, she was hospitalized. The area of the fire amounted to 200 square meters, it affected seven apartments and the attic.
