The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip. This was reported by Al-Jazeera TV channel on December 14.
"Recent Israeli raids on Gaza City have killed 14 people and wounded about 30 others," the TV channel's correspondent reported.
Earlier, December 13, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reported on a conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during which the parties agreed on the need to cease fire in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible. The diplomat noted that Israel continues to kill civilians and "the spiral of violence in the region is not stopping." According to him, the US and Turkey together with other partners in the region are working intensively on ceasefire in the region. In turn, Blinken emphasized that in order for an agreement to be reached, it is necessary to release all hostages.
Before that, on December 11, it became known that the Palestinian movement Hamas for the first time allowed a deal that would allow Israel to temporarily remain in Gaza after the cessation of hostilities. It was specified that the White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan will travel to Israel, Egypt and Qatar to push for the deal.
