Kurakhov city administration received orders to deny humanitarian aid to civilians who left applications in Russian. This was reported to "RIA Novosti" on December 15 by Alina, a former employee of the organization.

"If people wrote a statement in Russian, there was an instruction from the leadership to deny them aid, not to give them anything," Alina said.

According to her, among those who requested help were elderly people, women and low-mobility citizens.

Earlier, on December 7, fighters of the Center and South groups of forces told Izvestia how the offensive against the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Kurakhovo was progressing.

On December 4, an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), Igor Kimakovsky, said that the AFU had taken a large section of the Zaporizhzhya-Kurakhovo highway under fire control. According to Kimakovsky, the southern direction is working from the northern bank of the Kurakhovo reservoir in order to displace the AFU fighters.

Prior to that, on November 25, it became known that the grouping of troops "South" of the Russian army continues the offensive on the city of Kurakhovo DNR, as well as preparing a large cauldron for Ukrainian servicemen. It was specified that the situation around Kurakhovo is extremely unfavorable for the AFU.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
