Thirty-nine people were killed in armed attacks in Western Niger


39 civilians, including children, were killed because of a double attack of armed formations in the west of Niger. This was reported on December 14 by AFP agency with reference to the Defense Ministry.
As noted by representatives of the agency, the attacks occurred on December 12 and 14 in Libiri and Kokoru - settlements on the border with Burkina Faso.
On December 10, France began withdrawal of its army units from Chad after breaking the agreement on military cooperation with the authorities of the African country. As part of the first phase, Mirage fighter jets headed from the Chadian capital N'Djamena to a base area in eastern France.
Earlier, December 7, the President of the transitional period of Burkina Faso Ibrahim Traoré terminated the powers of Prime Minister Apollinaire Kielem de Tambel and dissolved the government of the country. It is noted that the resigned government will work until the appointment of a new composition.
