In the course of combat operations aimed at forcing the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) off islands in the Dnieper delta in Kherson Region, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit of a separate mobile logistics unit of the Airborne Troops (Airborne Troops MTO) has delivered food and power supplies to the communications equipment of the advanced units of the Dnipro group of troops using special cargo quadrocopters. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 15.

"We are very [quadrocopter] satisfied. It's a good machine that really helps us out a lot," said the operator of the cargo UAV with the call sign Min.

Upon approaching the line of contact, the UAV crew, accompanied by cover and electronic warfare (EW) units, promptly deployed the copter and secured the cargo, preparing it for operation.

This type of UAV is capable of lifting a load of up to 40 kg with a transportation range of up to 15 km. This is an extremely efficient way to provide supplies to the troops, as it is too dangerous to deliver food using boats and launches.

Every day, drone crews of the separate mobile unit of the Airborne Troops' Logistics Department deliver supplies to the frontline units of the Dnipro group of troops, as well as to the Airborne Troops' formations.

On the eve of the "People's Front" told about the features of drones "Night Witch" and "KVN". "Night Witch" flies at night, can carry up to four charges and actually hit the enemy at night, which is convenient. The "KVN" drone cannot be suppressed by means of electronic warfare (REB).

In September, specialists from Bauman Moscow State Technical University completed the development of the Tor robotic wheeled armored platform. This vehicle weighs 5 tons and can be used to deliver a variety of equipment, weapons and military hardware. Thor's range is 200 km, and the platform can take up to 1.2 tons of payload.

Eduard Baghdasaryan, general director of the Association of Unmanned Aerial Systems Industry Enterprises, told Izvestia on August 14 that the Prince Vandal of Novgorod is equipped with a fiber optic spool that unwinds while the drone is flying. Over this material, the drone is controlled and transmits a video stream.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
