Earthquake with magnitude 5.6 recorded off the coast of Kamchatka

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was recorded in Kamchatka. This was reported on Sunday, December 15, in Kamchatka branch of FGBUN Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences".

The origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 103 km.

Information on damage and casualties is unknown, the threat of a tsunami was not announced.

Earlier, on November 24, an earthquake with magnitude 3.3 occurred in the water area of Sochi. The depth reached 5 km, the epicenter is located in the sea at a distance of 7 km south-west of the city of Sochi.
