Trump nominated Grenell to be the president's special envoy

US President-elect Donald Trump appointed former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Allen Grenell to the post of the head of state's envoy for special assignments. This was announced by the American leader on December 14 in the social network Truth Social.

"Rick will be working in some of the hottest spots around the world...." - wrote Trump.

The US president-elect noted that Grenell will fight for peace and "put America first."

Earlier, on December 10, Donald Trump proposed the candidacy of Andrew Ferguson for the post of head of the US Federal Trade Commission. Politico reported that Ferguson could take over the role of chairman immediately after Trump's inauguration, as he is already a member of the trade commission,

Prior to that, on Dec. 9, the U.S. president-elect said that former U.S. ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau could get the position of the first deputy secretary of state. Trump added that Landau, as U.S. ambassador to Mexico, worked to reduce illegal migration, bringing it down to the lowest level in history.

At the same time, Trump said he would appoint Michael Anton to head the State Department's political planning division. It is noted that in the first presidential term of Trump, he was actually the president's strategic communications adviser.

Before that, on December 6, it became known that Trump appointed an investor, former Director of the financial company PayPal David Sachs responsible for the policy of the US administration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies. The president-elect noted that Sachs will focus on ensuring US leadership in both areas.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
