Police in Ukraine detain suspect in Dnipropetrovsk terrorist attack


Ukrainian police detained a suspect in the commission of a terrorist act - detonation of an improvised explosive device in the center of the city of Dnipro (until 2016 was called Dnipropetrovsk). About it on Saturday, December 14, reported the press service of the police of the country.
"The police in Dnipro detained a suspect in the commission of a terrorist attack <...> detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (detention by an authorized official. - Ed.). He turned out to be a 37-year-old local resident", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel of the department.
As noted by law enforcers, the man could face life imprisonment.
Theexplosion in Dnipropetrovsk occurred near one of the administrative buildings in the central district of the city earlier in the day. As a result of the incident, a man was killed and four more people were injured.
Earlier, on December 8, it was reported that the explosion occurred near the police station in Kharkiv region. In the press service of the Kharkiv police added that the explosion damaged the facade of the building. There were no casualties.
On November 24, it was noted that Ukraine has seen an increase in the number of sabotage attacks against law enforcers. Thus, one of the cases occurred near the car of a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was specified that a camera was attached to a tree next to the car, which was broadcasting what was happening in real time.
On October 10 in the city of Dnipro (until 2016 was called Dnipropetrovsk) unknown persons burned a military vehicle. Only a metal hulk was left of it. It was reported that this was not the first case of arson, thus residents expressed their disagreement with the forced mobilization.
