Vucic confirms agreement with Fitzo to travel to Moscow for Victory Parade

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on December 14 that he has agreed with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo to go to the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9, 2025.
"May 9 is Victory over Fascism Day, we have already agreed with Fitzo that we will go to Moscow," he told TV Informer.
Fitzo and Vucic have repeatedly announced their intention to come to Moscow in May 2025. Thus, on November 21, the Slovak prime minister said that he had already agreed with the Serbian leader on a joint trip to the Russian capital. According to him, they consider it important to respect those states that played a significant role in the liberation of Slovakia and Serbia from fascism during World War II.
In 2025, May 9 marks 80 years since the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January 1945, the Soviet Army launched an offensive against Berlin. As a result of the fighting at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed an act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the Great Patriotic War.
