Lieutenant Ilya Dechev rendered first aid to four wounded fellow soldiers and pulled them out from under live fire. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 14.

After the battle, Dechev took the wounded to a field medical hospital, where they received the necessary medical care. Thanks to his actions, the lives of the injured Russian servicemen were saved.

The Russian Defense Ministry also told about Sergeant Semyon Makovkin, who led the defense of a stronghold under attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The military man competently organized the defense, and his men engaged in a battle with the enemy forces that were many times superior.

"Showing courage and heroism, under the incessant fire of Ukrainian fighters Semyon led the defense of the stronghold, personally acting on the most difficult terrain," the department's TASS reports.

As a result, Makovkin and his subordinates were able to prevent an enemy breakthrough and avoid encirclement, while inflicting significant damage to the AFU's manpower, which contributed to its retreat.

Earlier, on December 9, the Russian Defense Ministry told about the feat of Captain of Medical Service Bella Karibova. She performed tasks to provide qualified medical assistance to Russian servicemen both at the evacuation points for the wounded and in rear areas.

Karibova also participated in anesthetizing, bandaging and stopping bleeding from wounds of varying severity, and organized the evacuation of the injured to a safe area.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
