Medvedev urged to realize the full potential of new regions

The potential of new Russian regions should be fully realized. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev at the XXII Congress of the United Russia party on December 14.
According to him, Novorossiya is home to energetic, talented and brave people capable of strengthening the strength and glory of Russia through their efforts.
"We need to make sure that the potential of these new regions is fully realized," Medvedev said.
He also expressed confidence that each of the new subjects of Russia will become a powerful engine of development for the entire country.
Earlier, on September 5, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Izvestia on the sidelines of the IX Eastern Economic Forum (VEF-2024) that the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions are an integral part of Russia. According to him, work is currently underway to integrate the new regions.
On July 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to include the new regions of the Russian Federation in national projects and, if necessary, to simplify their access to support tools. As the Russian leader emphasized, it is extremely important that the residents of the regions of Donbass and Novorossiya have decent living and working conditions already now. According to Putin, by 2030 the new regions of the Russian Federation should reach the all-Russian level in key areas.
Before that, in November 2023, Putin said that the new regions are not new to the Russian state, they have historically been territories of the Russian Federation. Thus the head of state commented on the proposal to call these territories new old regions.
The federal constitutional law on the admission of the liberated regions to the Russian Federation was signed on October 5, 2022. Before that, in the period from September 23 to 27, referendums on joining Russia were held. According to the law, residents of the republics of Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions are recognized as Russian citizens from the day of joining the Russian Federation.
