The expert told about ways to protect money on the account from fraudsters

To protect your card data and account funds from fraudsters, it is important to download only official bank applications. Alexander Vurasko, development director of the external digital threat monitoring service Alexander Vurasko told Izvestia on December 14.

"Spyware, they are, of course, widely used to steal money from bank accounts for many years. <...> These are programs that enable remote control of the phone," he explained.

The expert specified that the attacker on his computer with the help of the necessary application can see the victim's phone screen and perform various actions: open applications, read SMS and enter codes. Most often this scheme is used to gain access to banking applications. In order not to become a victim of swindlers, it is necessary to refrain from downloading third-party banking programs, he said.

Vurasko emphasized that the sooner the bank learns about fraud attempts, the more promptly the necessary measures will be taken. After that, it is possible to apply to the police, which will deal with the investigation, the specialist concluded.
