- Domestic mRNA vaccine against cancer will be free for patients in the Russian Federation

Russian mRNA vaccine against oncologic diseases in Russia will be provided to patients free of charge. This was announced on December 14 by Andrei Kaprin, an oncologist at the Russian Ministry of Health and Director General of the National Medical Center of Radiology.
He said that all drugs, when they first appear on the market, are very expensive at first, and, according to him, this vaccine will not be an exception.
"We are on the stream, when the technology will be established, we will have to come out somewhere on 300 thousand rubles, for the state I mean, for patients it should be free, of course," said Caprin on the air of "Radio Russia."
In addition, the expert said that oncolytic vaccine "Enteromix" showed high efficiency during preclinical trials. According to him, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Roszdravnadzor issued a permit to conduct a clinical trial.
Earlier, on November 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the introduction of a vaccine against cancer a breakthrough. Then, at a meeting with the head of state, the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova told him about the agency's innovative developments in the field of biotechnology, including oncovaccines. Skvortsova noted that it will take about a year to test all components separately and together, and after all these tests, the Russian personalized cancer vaccine will start to be used.
