Putin thanked the parties for their contribution to the defense of Russia's interests at the front and in the rear

All parliamentary parties in Russia support efforts to protect people in Donbas and Novorossiya. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this on December 14 at the XXII Congress of the United Russia party.

"I want to emphasize this: all parliamentary parties of the country consolidatedly support everything that is aimed at protecting people [in] Donbass and Novorossiya, at providing firm guarantees for the security of the Fatherland for decades to come," the head of state said.

He noted that United Russia as a leader works exactly where the fate of the country is decided, working together with the army, navy, employees of defense industry enterprises (DIC) and volunteers. The party helps deliver thousands of tons of humanitarian aid, food, medicine, various household items, equipment and gear. Representatives of the political force bring victory closer with the help of concrete actions and personal participation. In addition, many United Russia deputies have joined the Russian Armed Forces and traveled to the line of contact.

The head of state thanked all those who contribute to the defense of Russia's national interests. Putin asked United Russia to step up its efforts in various aspects, especially in supporting combat veterans and their relatives. In addition, it is necessary to help families who have lost their loved ones and to pay increased attention to fighters who have returned from the special operation zone with serious injuries.

Earlier, on December 10, at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) , the President emphasized the contribution of this body to help the participants of the special operation and their families. The head of state added that it was necessary to record violations of the rights of civilians by the Kiev regime and to inform the international community about Ukraine's war crimes.

Prior to that, on September 2, , while holding an open lesson "Talking about the important" at school No. 20 named after Heroes of the Fatherland in Kyzyl, Putin noted that support for special operation fighters is the basis of Russian society and a pledge of future victories.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
