Air defense forces destroyed six AFU drones over Belgorod and Kursk regions

Air defense forces have shot down six drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over Belgorod and Kursk regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 14.

"Between 11:30 and 12:40 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of aircraft-type UAVs on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was foiled," the ministry said in its Telegaram channel.

It is specified that five drones were shot down over the Belgorod region, and one - over the Kursk region.

Earlier in the day, the ministry said that air defense forces shot down five Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over the Belgorod region in half an hour - between 09:10 and 09:40.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense assets overnight intercepted and destroyed 37 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
