In St. Petersburg, fraudsters stole more than 34 million rubles from a pensioner. This was reported by the source of "Izvestia" on December 14.
It is specified that the pensioner born in 1954 applied to law enforcement authorities with a statement that from October 15, 2024 to December 10, she received calls from unknown persons who introduced themselves as FSB officers and claimed that the woman would be held criminally liable for allegedly transferring money to Ukraine.
In such a fraudulent way they forced the pensioner to withdraw from her and her husband's accounts the amount of more than 34 million rubles, which she later transferred to unknown couriers at several addresses in the city. Also on December 11, on the instructions of the caller, the woman transferred another Br360 thousand to the account.
The total amount of damage is Br34,919,846.
A criminal case under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on a large scale") has been initiated.
Earlier, on December 11, a source of "Izvestia" said that a teenager beat up a pensioner in St. Petersburg and stole a ring from him. According to him, the pensioner invited the teenager to his home, where after drinking coffee the young man hit the owner of the dwelling and stole the jewelry from him. The schoolboy was detained. A criminal case was opened under paragraph "g" of part 2 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery with the use of violence"). In response to the charges, the teenager's mother stated that the pensioner had harassed her son.
