The Government approved additional wage supplements in the Far North

Employees of federal institutions located in the Far North and equated areas will receive additional salary supplements. The Russian government announced the approval of such a resolution on December 14.

"The incentive payment is introduced in addition to the percentage wage supplement for length of service in the Far North. The new payment will be accrued as a percentage of salary. Its size will depend on the limit of the labor remuneration fund of a particular institution," the government said in its Telegram channel.

It is specified that the right to bonuses will be given to employees whose labor contract is concluded for a period of not less than three years. It will be possible to receive the money within six years from the date of signing the contract. The government specifies that during this period the employee is fixed in the institution, gains work experience, increases his efficiency and achieves a higher level of remuneration for his labor.

The government added that the work on the introduction of incentive bonuses is carried out on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, on November 23, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that real wages of citizens in Russia are increasing, including in new regions. The growth is more than 15%. The presidential spokesman reminded that for a number of Russians, such as servants and employees of law enforcement agencies, there is a system of salary supplements.

According to experts, most often - in 45% of cases - their increase was due to an increase in salary or salary and bonus at once (41%), 13% of employers limited themselves to increasing bonuses. In 51% of cases, income growth amounted to 5-10%, in 37% - 10-20%, and in 9% - 21% or more. At the same time, 58% of employers plan to increase wages in 2025.

Before that, on October 29, Putin approved the minimum wage (MROT) for 2025 in the amount of 22,440 rubles. The draft of this law was submitted to the State Duma by the Russian government in late September, in October the initiative was passed in all three readings and approved by the Federation Council.
