Child killed in AFU drone attack on apartment building in Belgorod region

Drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked Belgorod district of Belgorod Region, a nine-year-old boy was killed. This was reported by the Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov on December 14.

"In the village of Maysky, as a result of a UAV attack on a residential house, the worst thing happened - a 9-year-old child died. <...> The boy's mother and the second seven-month-old child, who were also in the house at the time of the attack, were wounded," Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He specified that the second child was a girl who was diagnosed with concussion. The ambulance crew hospitalized the child in the children's regional hospital. The children's mother received a leg injury and soft tissue bruises, she is hospitalized in a hospital in Belgorod. All necessary assistance is being provided to the injured. The father of the family was not injured.

The attacked house received a breach in the roof, windows, walls and interior decoration were damaged. The car, which is parked in the garage, was also damaged. In addition, the neighboring house has broken windows, damaged gates and a fence.

In addition, the means of air defense (air defense) shot down several drones over the region. In the village of Repnoye, the roof and glazing were damaged in one of the houses. The governor added that the consequences of the AFU attack are being specified.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that five aircraft-type drones of the AFU were destroyed over the Belgorod region in half an hour - between 9:10 and 9:40.

On the eve, December 13, Gladkov reported that a man was injured in the village of Gruzskoye in the Borisov district of Belgorod region when an FPV drone attacked a car. In addition, the AFU dropped a munition on a house in the village of Krasnaya Niva.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
