Hyatsint-B howitzer destroyed an AFU artillery piece in the Kursk border area

A 152 mm caliber Giacint-B howitzer crew of Crimean artillery paratroopers has eliminated a gun of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. Footage of the Russian servicemen's combat work was published by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 14.

"Combat crews of the 152-mm towed gun 2A36 Hyacinth-B of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia of the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Airborne Troops in the course of counter-battery combat in the border areas of the Kursk region constantly inflict fire defeat on the AFU's manpower," the ministry said in a statement.

Paratrooper artillerymen are constantly disabling and destroying artillery systems of Ukrainian fighters.

Intelligence detected and found out the exact location of the artillery installation of the AFU, which attacked the positions of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). Its coordinates were passed on to the Hyacinth-B team, which aimed the howitzer and fired a precise shot that hit the enemy's gun.

The objective control of the strike was conducted from a drone in real time, and the footage confirmed the destruction of the Ukrainian installation.

Calculations of towed howitzers "Hyacinth-B" work on targets at ranges of more than 20 kilometers and fire hundreds of shells a day at the enemy, providing cover and safe advancement of the Russian army assault groups deep into the enemy positions.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry showed how servicemen of the engineering and sapper units of the "North" group of troops demine liberated territories in the border area of the Kursk Region. The sappers remove dispersal blocks, rocket warheads, unexploded striking elements, dispersal parts of ammunition from funnels, pick up and neutralize fallen drones, including those requested by residents.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
