Russians have been told about a new method of fraud using parcel notifications

Specialists have identified a new trick of fraudsters, who with the help of messages about the arrival of a parcel get access to personal data and payment details. This was reported on December 14 by Alla Khrapunova, an expert of the People's Front project "For the Rights of Borrowers", curator of the platform "Moshelovka".
"Recently we have begun to receive signals about the growth of cases of deception using links from fake messages from well-known delivery services. Allegedly, the victim receives a message about the arrival of a parcel, the information about which can be learned from the link," Khrapunova told RIA Novosti.
Moreover, she added that when clicking on the link, the victim gets to a fake website of the delivery service, which completely looks like the original. After that, the recipient is asked for personal data and payment details.
Summarizing, Harpunova reminded that it is extremely dangerous to follow links from unknown users and organizations, especially if no parcel is expected.
Earlier, on December 13, psychologist Maria Pavlova told about how phone scammers try to press on the pain points of their victims. She noted that attackers are well aware of people's psychology, so in order to get their personal data or force them to transfer money, they constantly push them, saying that time is limited and it is necessary to make decisions quickly.
On this day, it also became known that scammers began to deceive Russians by offering earnings by reactions to online shopping posts in the messenger Telegram.
Fraudsters, posing as employees of "Yandex", offer easy earnings. So, after accepting the offer, they request the age of the user and promise to contact him through the manager for further instructions. Payouts are promised after the task is completed.
