The Prosecutor General's Office found attempts to destabilize the country in Viber

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation found that the messenger Viber was used to destabilize the socio-political situation in Russia. This was the basis for bringing the messenger to responsibility. This is reported on December 13 in the materials of the case of administrative offense Viber.
"Roskomnadzor received the requirements of the first Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to information resources Viber, containing calls for the participation of citizens in mass events, not coordinated with the authorized authorities of the Russian Federation," - quotes from the case material TASS.
According to the case it is known that Roskomnazdor demanded Viber to remove the prohibited information, but the company did not fulfill this requirement in the allotted time.
On December 13, Roskomnadzor restricted access to the messenger Viber on the territory of Russia. This measure was taken due to non-compliance of the company's representatives with the requirements of the Russian legislation.
Earlier, in the spring of this year, it became known that the Tagansky court of Moscow fined the messenger Viber for failure to remove banned content. The company was fined 800 thousand rubles.
