A cynologist explained why dogs stare into the void

President of the Russian Cynological Federation (RKF) Vladimir Golubev explained on Friday, December 13, that a dog's strange behavior when a pet stares into the void can be explained by a combination of heightened hearing and the ability to perceive the world differently than a human.
"Pets can notice activity unseen by their owner, see things humans can't see, and hear even the most distant noise. Therefore, the situation when the dog looks as if in the void, is not something mysterious, it is just the peculiarities of the perception of the world of the pet," - said the expert in conversation with "Radio 1".
The cynologist noted that dogs have a very developed sense of smell, and odors in many ways help them understand the world. In addition to sniffing, dogs are oriented to sounds. They have more sensitive eardrums than humans, so animals are able to hear sounds that are not available to the human ear. Also pets can feel the change of weather and predict various cataclysms. They pick up subtle odors, sounds and objects outside the field of human vision.
According to Golubev, if the dog regularly looks at the wall or at one point, rests his head on objects, it is important to check the health of the pet - the dog may have a headache.
On the eve of Golubev said that small breed dogs begin to age at about 6-8 years, and large ones a little earlier - at 5-6 years, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".
Earlier, on December 6, the cynologist warned of the dangers that can befall dogs in winter, and gave advice on how to protect pets during a walk. The specialist warned that in winter a pet can easily injure its paws, get frostbite and even get allergies due to reagents.
