Basmanny district court of Moscow has chosen a preventive measure for Denis Tsukanov, vice-governor of Omsk region, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the region. This was reported on December 13 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

It is specified that the man will be under house arrest for one month and 30 days.

"The decision of the Basmanny district court of Moscow satisfied the petition of the investigator to elect a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest against Denis Gennadyevich Tsukanov, accused of committing a crime under part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for a period of 1 month and 30 days",- stated in the Telegram-channel of the press service.

In addition, under house arrest for one month and 30 days will be under house arrest for one month and 30 days former chief of staff of the Government of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Denis Petkun. According to the version of the investigation, he, together with other defendants, stole budget allocations from the republican budget.

Tsukanov was detained and taken to Moscow on December 12. Other circumstances and the essence of the case have not been disclosed yet.

Tsukanov was appointed deputy chairman of the regional government on July 11, 2023. Prior to that, he was in the position of deputy chairman of the government of the Donetsk People's Republic. From 2012 to 2022, he was deputy director of the department of regional industrial policy and project management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
