Kursk resident to be tried in case of state treason and sabotage


A resident of Kursk who performed tasks of the Ukrainian special services will be tried for treason and sabotage. This was reported on December 13 in the Telegram-channel of the Prosecutor's Office of Kursk region.
It is specified that 30-year-old Kursk resident is charged under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High Treason") and paragraph "a" part 2 of Art. 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage committed by an organized group").
According to the investigation, the man cooperated with a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) of Ukraine, performed his tasks.
"In the period from January 25 to 27, 2024, using the geographical coordinates received from the curator, [the accused] committed arson of a transport infrastructure facility," the Kursk Region Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
The criminal case was sent to the Kursk regional court for consideration on the merits, the agency noted.
Earlier, on December 10, the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the FSB reported that a citizen of Russia and Germany, suspected of preparing a sabotage on the railroad in Nizhny Novgorod on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), was detained.
It was noted that in the house of the man found explosives and means of communication, which recorded correspondence with a representative of the Ukrainian security services. In addition, it turned out that he belonged to a youth group of neo-Nazi supporters.
