Demand for freelancers is growing steadily, and seasonality remains an important factor determining the dynamics of the market, said Vladimir Koritsky, CEO of Solar Staff, a service for secure freelance transactions. Analysts have analyzed the seasonal interest in the services of project performers for 2024. "Izvestia" got acquainted with the experts' data on December 14.

In January-February 2024, the number of Russian companies that attract freelancers increased by 1.26% compared to the same period in 2023. On average, the income of freelancers amounted to: 23,904 rubles for individuals, 42,800 rubles for the self-employed, 102,369 rubles for IE.

At the same time, according to analysts, March-May was a period of significant growth. The number of companies working with freelancers increased by 5% relative to winter, while the number of performers - by 24%. Experts explained this surge by the activation of advertising campaigns, new product launches and implementation of projects, which usually start in spring. The average income of freelancers amounted to: 29,744 rubles for individuals, 48,748 rubles for the self-employed, and 125,240 rubles for sole proprietorships.

At the same time in June-August the demand for freelancers increased by 3.7% compared to spring. However, the income of some categories of specialists decreased due to the traditional seasonal decline in business activity, specified in the service. Average earnings in the summer period amounted to: Br28,558 for individuals, Br49,449 for the self-employed, Br127,602 for IE.

However, September - November became the peak season in terms of income. As noted by analysts, companies were actively launching projects before the winter holidays, which ensured the growth of income of freelance performers: 30,967 rubles for individuals, 55,693 rubles for the self-employed, and 193,730 rubles for sole proprietorships.

"2024 confirms: the demand for freelancers is steadily growing, and seasonality remains an important factor determining the market dynamics. In spring and fall, companies launch large projects, which explains the peak figures in these periods. We see an increasing interest in project performers as a flexible and effective solution to business problems," Koritsky concluded.

Earlier, on November 27, it was reported that the services "Work.ru" and "Podrabotka" conducted a study and found out how many Russians would like to become self-employed and why. The study involved more than 3.5 thousand respondents from all regions of Russia. At the same time, 47% of respondents would like to become self-employed. Among the advantages 45% of the survey participants noted the possibility to engage in several types of activities, and 24% highlighted such a plus as low taxation.
