A man who drank 1.5 lethal doses of alcohol was rescued in Lipetsk

A 48-year-old local resident who drank one and a half lethal doses of alcohol has been rescued in Lipetsk. The man was helped by doctors of the acute poisoning department of the Lipetsk City Emergency Hospital No. 1, GOROD48 reported on Friday, December 13.
The concentration of alcohol in the Lipchanin's blood amounted to 8 ppm. Doctors note that this is the most egregious case of alcohol abuse in recent times. Medics managed to get out the patient, who spent four days in the hospital.
A lethal dose for a person is considered 5 ppm, which corresponds to 400-450 g of pure alcohol. This is 1-1.25 liters of vodka drunk almost once in a short period of time.
After taking a lethal dose, lethal outcome occurs in 20-40 hours. During this period of time, the body temperature drops, alcoholic coma begins, multi-organ failure develops.
Earlier in December it was reported that the Russian government approved an action plan to implement the reduction of alcohol consumption until 2030. The program contains about 29 measures.
