About 40 provocations were recorded on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in 2024. This was stated by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Wolfovich on December 13.

"For this year we have recorded only on the southern section of the border (with Ukraine - Ed.) about 40 provocations related to the entry into our territory, with the defacement of our border signs, hanging banners, let's say, foul language of border guards," the words of the Secretary of the Security Council are quoted on the website of the Belarusian State Border Committee.

He added that in addition to these provocations, there were other absolutely "undemocratic and absolutely unfriendly facts" towards Belarus.

In addition, he said that over 350 unmanned aviation overflights along the Belarusian border had been recorded this year, about 20 of which were carried out by drones. Wolfowicz added that the border service uses weapons on UAVs, after which the drone flies to the neighboring territory.

Earlier, November 20, it was reported that the Western countries are planning to conduct a military invasion of Belarus, for which a plan has been in place abroad for several years, where all the roles and stages of such an intervention are clearly distributed. This was reported by the Belarusian channel ONT, which initiated a journalistic investigation into the matter.

Before that, November 5, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (AF) of Belarus, Major General Vladimir Kuprianyuk said that there were special purpose units with armored vehicles of the National Guard of Ukraine near the border with the country. He pointed out that NATO was preparing for an open armed conflict with Belarus and Russia. Kuprianyuk noted that the West constantly demonstrates the growth of activities aimed at preparing for military action.

In August, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that there were more than 120 thousand military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. He noted that a similar aggravation of the situation on the border was observed in early July during preparations for the Independence Day parade in Minsk.
