The Russian Ministry of Justice has included artists Anatoly Osmolovsky, Ekaterina Margolis and Igor Ponochevny (Alyosha Stupin) in the list of foreign agents. This follows from a release published on December 13 on the agency's website.
All three were charged with spreading fakes about the decisions and policies of the Russian authorities and participation in the creation and distribution of content of foreign agents. In addition, Margolis and Ponochevny disseminated "inaccurate information aimed at forming a negative image" of the Russian army. According to the latest data, they live outside Russia.
At the same time, journalist Alexei Gorpinchenko was excluded from the register due to the loss of signs of a foreign agent. In connection with the liquidation, the association to promote the protection of the rights of conscripts, alternative servicemen and military personnel "Human Rights Group "Citizen. Army. Right".
Earlier, on December 4, a court in Moscow fined the owner of the cafe chain "Anderson" for violating the law on foreign agents. The former ombudsman of small and medium-sized businesses and owner of the chain of family cafes "Anderson" Anastasia Tatulova (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was brought to administrative responsibility.
On December 1, 2022, the law regulating the activities of foreign agents came into force in Russia. In case of obtaining this status, a foreign agent, among other things, can no longer receive financial support from the state, participate in government procurement and engage in teaching activities in state institutions. In addition, these persons must inform their employees and the authorities about this status, as well as label the materials they create.
