On December 13, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction of a Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) shelter with personnel in the border area of Kursk Region by the North group of the Russian Armed Forces.

It is specified that the strike was carried out by an FPV drone.

According to the agency, the shelter with the AFU's manpower was discovered during reconnaissance by the military grouping of troops "North" with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). After analyzing the reconnaissance data, a decision was made to fire.

The operation was recorded in real time by means of objective control.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that the AFU had lost more than 200 servicemen and three tanks in the Kursk direction over the past day. The Defense Ministry noted that during the fighting in the Kursk direction the militants lost more than 40,000 servicemen, 239 tanks, 177 infantry fighting vehicles, 125 armored personnel carriers, 1,252 armored combat vehicles and 1,124 vehicles.

Earlier, on December 11, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) had liberated the villages of Daryino and Plekhovo in the Sujan district of Kursk Region. In addition, the Russian military defeated 12 AFU brigades in the region's border areas.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of a federal nature. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
