Yemen's Houthis claimed a strike on Tel Aviv and a military target in Ashkelon

The Yemeni Houthis launched an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strike on Tel Aviv and a military target in Ashkelon. Yahya Saria, a military spokesman for the Houthis, said on December 13.
"The Yemeni Armed Forces' UAV forces conducted two military operations: targeting a military target in occupied Ashkelon and the second target in occupied Jaffa," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Saria said that two drones were used in the operation and were able to bypass interception systems and reach their targets.
He noted that the Houthis will carry out the operation until hostilities in the Gaza Strip cease.
On the same day, it was reported that the Houthis intensified strikes on Israel after the ceasefire in Lebanon. Thus, a few days ago, the Houthis launched strikes using 16 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.
On December 10, the Houthis repeated attacks on US ships in the Gulf of Aden. In addition, strikes have also been carried out deep into Israeli territory. Prior to that, on Dec. 1, Saria said that the Houthis shelled three supply ships (the tanker Stena Impeccable, the container ship Maersk Saratoga and the dry cargo ship Liberty Grace) and a U.S.-owned destroyer in the Arabian Sea. Saria said the operation was in support of the Palestinian people and their resistance.
The Houthis began striking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since last November to protest Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. On the night of Jan. 12, in response to their actions, the U.S. and Britain launched an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen. The White House said the strikes on movement-controlled areas of the country were defensive in nature. It was also claimed at the time that the strikes were carried out to protect international vessels.
