Russia is among the top ten countries in terms of the quality of education and among the top five in terms of the results of international school Olympiads. This was announced on December 13 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at the All-Russian meeting of heads of executive bodies of the subjects of the Russian Federation, carrying out state management in the field of education.
"We have Russia in the top ten countries in terms of education quality and in the top five in terms of results of international school Olympiads. This is an unconditional success. It is just really something to be proud of," he said.
Chernyshenko noted that despite the achievement of such serious results, the development of education will not stop.
He said that new standards have already been created in the sphere of secondary vocational education, the third shift has been eliminated, the work on the introduction of unified state textbooks has been almost completed, and the availability of preschool education has reached 100%.
More than 230 thousand students of secondary vocational education are trained to work at enterprises in key sectors of the economy, emphasized Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
In addition, according to Chernyshenko, the infrastructure is growing, thanks to which students can receive quality education, namely: 370 colleges have been modernized, more than 1300 schools and almost 1700 kindergartens have been built, about 4 thousand school buildings have been repaired, more than 18.5 thousand "Point of Growth" centers have been opened.
Earlier, on December 5, Chernyshenko said that private tutoring in Russia want to replace free school classes to prepare for the Unified State Examination (USE).
Before that, on December 1, the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova (A Just Russia - For Truth) suggested reducing the load on schoolchildren without compromising the quality of knowledge by reducing the number of lessons per day.
On November 19, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that improving the quality of education in the country and reducing the burden on teachers remain among the main tasks.
