Russian forward "Tampa Bay Lightning" Nikita Kucherov became the first star of the last game day in the National Hockey League (NHL). The corresponding statement on December 13 appeared on the league's website.
Earlier in the day, Tampa defeated the Calgary Flames in a regular season NHL match. The meeting was held at the arena "Skoushabank-Saddledome" in Calgary and ended with a score of 8:3 in favor of the guests.
"Nikita Kucherov <...> earned Thursday's award," the publication said.
Kucherov scored one puck and made five effective assists, totaling six individual points. Such a result in his career hockey player shows for the second time.
Having scored 44 points in 25 games, Kucherov took second place in the list of top scorers in the NHL. Thus, he surpassed the rating of the Russian Kirill Kaprizov from "Minnesota".
Earlier in the day, the Washington Capitals beat the Columbus Blue Jackets in an NHL match thanks to a double of Belarusian forward Alexei Protas. During the main time, the teams played a draw (1:1), but in overtime Protas brought Washington's second goal.
