A special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas has been carried out by Russia since February 24, 2022. The units of the "West" troop group improved the position along the front line, defeated the manpower and equipment of six mechanized, airborne brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a brigade of marines, two brigades of tera defense and a brigade of the National Guard.
In the zone of responsibility of the "Center" group of troops, the militants lost over 3,340 servicemen, two tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, including a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and five M113 armored personnel carriers, 20 vehicles and 38 field artillery guns.
"The units of the Dnipro group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an infantry brigade of the AFU, four brigades of tera defense and a brigade of the National Guard," the ministry said.
The Defense Ministry added that air defense (air defense) assets shot down 21 HIMARS and 12 Vampire multiple rocket launchers, as well as 279 aircraft-type drones. During the week, 87 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered at the line of contact.
In total, 649 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 37,633 unmanned aerial vehicles, 586 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19,775 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,500 multiple rocket launchers, 19,549 field artillery and mortars, 29,190 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
