The Russian Armed Forces have carried out 15 group strikes with high-precision weapons and drones on Ukrainian military facilities and energy sector during the week. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on 13 December.

As a result of the Russian army's actions, the infrastructure of military airfields, drone assembly and storage sites, as well as arsenals, ammunition depots, as well as the locations of formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and foreign mercenaries were destroyed.

In addition, the units of the "Southern" grouping of troops and the "West" improved their position in the special military operation (SMO) zone.

"Air defense means shot down 21 rockets of the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system produced by the United States and 12 Vampire of Czech production, as well as 279 unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type," - stated in the message of the department.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, in total, the Russian army has destroyed more than 29,000 units of military automotive equipment of the AFU since the beginning of the SSO.

On the same day, an army aviation crew on a Mi-28 helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group launched a strike with air missiles against AFU personnel, a stronghold and military vehicles in the Kursk border area. After the strike, the helicopter crew performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps to prevent missiles from hitting the enemy's man-portable anti-aircraft missile system.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
