Putin awarded the 205th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade the "Guards" designation


Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the 205th Independent Motorized Rifle Cossack Brigade the "Guards" designation. The corresponding decree was published on December 13 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"For mass heroism and bravery, fortitude and courage shown by the brigade's personnel in combat actions to defend the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, I decree: to award the 205th separate motorized infantry Cossack brigade the honorary appellation "Guards" and henceforth to call it: the 205th separate Guards motorized infantry Cossack brigade," the document says.
Earlier, on December 9, the head of state presented "Gold Star" medals to the military, awarded the title of Hero of Russia, in the St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace. More than 300 servicemen attended the ceremony. During the event, Putin said that Russia will continue to rely on the heroes of special operations as the country's elite. The military of the Russian Army are reliable and brave people, they put service to the Motherland above all else, the president said at the time.
Before that, on October 25, Putin awarded the 77th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Russian Armed Forces the honorary title of "Guards" for the mass heroism and bravery of the servicemen.
On September 18, the title "Guards" was awarded to the 11th Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense, as well as to the 51st Combined Armed Forces Donetsk Army of the Russian Armed Forces for the heroism of its servicemen. At the end of August, it was awarded to the 15th Coastal Missile Brigade.
