In Nizhny Novgorod region, a mother of many children is suspected of torturing her children

A resident of Nizhny Novgorod region tortured four minor children and subsequently sewed up their wounds herself. This was reported in the regional prosecutor's office on December 13.

It is established that in the period from 2015 to 2024 the woman withdrew from the maintenance and upbringing of children, did not care about their health and development. Including for nine years she beat children against the background of dissatisfaction with their behavior in the household.

"Without going to medical institutions, she independently with the use of a needle and thread sewed up the wounds formed as a result of her illegal actions," - stated in the message on the website of the Prosecutor's office.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under paragraphs "a", "d", "e" of part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Torture against two or more known minors, committed with particular cruelty, abuse or torment").

At the moment, the minor children have been seized, they are in a specialized institution.

Earlier, on November 25, police detained a woman. A criminal case was opened against her for murder and attempted murder of children (paragraph "c" of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; part 3 of article 30, paragraph "a" and paragraph "c" of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The next day, a source of Izvestiya reported that the woman was registered in the juvenile affairs department.
