Expert gives advice on earning money in IT for schoolchildren

Nowadays, educational materials and the chance to learn from any part of the world are open to everyone. Thus, it is possible to start a career in IT at any age, even as a school student. Elena Provozen, head of the educational and methodological department of MAXITET College, told Izvestia on December 14 about how to start an IT career for a schoolchild.

"There are many ways to start earning the first money in IT while still at school. A high school student can get involved in creating simple websites for small businesses. One can try his or her hand at developing small applications, working with social media and content management, or testing software," Provozen said.

The field of information technology is vast, she said, and it's worth familiarizing yourself with the various professions to choose something that really appeals. IT includes not only programming and development, but also design, marketing, information security and many other areas.

According to the expert, once the direction is chosen, the student can start developing the right skills. Python and JavaScript are great languages to start with as they have a fairly simple syntax, which makes them popular.

It is also crucial for an IT professional to keep up with news and new trends in their field. Participating in forums, social networking groups and specialized events will help to join the IT community even while in school, the expert added.

"To become a successful specialist, you need a lot of training. The main thing to remember is that success in the IT sphere depends not so much on age as on the desire to learn and develop. It is important to use your time to the maximum benefit, gradually building up knowledge and skills," summarized Provozen.

Earlier, on November 29, top management search and recruitment expert Anastasia Malakhova told Izvestia about high-paying professions in IT. According to her, technical directors, depending on the company and direction, receive from 600 thousand to 2 million rubles per month.
