Court extends arrest of Bitmama blogger in fraud case


Blogger Valeria Fedyakina (Bitmama) has extended her arrest in a case of especially large-scale fraud. This was reported on December 13 by Izvestiya correspondent from the courtroom.
It is specified that she will be in custody for another six months.
According to the prosecutor, all the stolen property in Fedyakina's case has not yet been identified and arrested.
The blogger was arrested in September 2023 on charges of fraud in the field of investment of cryptocurrencies.
The statement on Bitmama was written by one of her investors (he is currently under state protection), who gave her 6.7 billion rubles in cash. He was recognized as a victim. A criminal case was initiated under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group on a particularly large scale"). Fedyakina faces up to 10 years in prison.
Bitmama does not admit her guilt. Her arrest has already been extended several times, the last time - until December 15.
